We have been asked to show our vaccine certificates when we've been eating at motorway services and restaurants.

Thanks for the reply, it was helpful

Can I ask ,when you say you had your travel certificates ready , at the port and you’ve been asked to show your travel certificates in restaurants is that paper copies or do you need the QR codes.

Hi, we had both but we were going to show the paper certificates had we been asked for them. We also had the French statement of honour ready to show but we weren’t asked for them either.

Lol. It’s just So difficult and I’d hate to see anyone not get away. We have all been through the mill.  I just saw someone here this morning mention the NHS cert QR being out of date after a month.   and I had forgotten to update ours !  We sail on the 14th Sept !  Dodged...

... a bullet there !     What the Heck can that be about.  The certificate says Exactly the same things all the time. Hoops for hoops sake 🙈🤷‍♀️

Just read about the NHS certificate going out of date after one month!  I have a printed certificate stating hubby and I have had two jabs. How can that go out of date?  Horribly confused. I am misreading that bit of info?  Gulp.

We are in Vera at the moment traveled via eurotunnel on Saturday. You don't need to fill in the statement of honour just need to show double vaccine certificate barcode which renews every 30 days so down load it just before you leave and it will last for 30 days, if you're staying longer just download it again. We also took the dog and had to get a pet health certificate which cost £203 but it all worked out well they just scanned his microchip and checked the certificate took about 3 minutes. While we are in Spain I'm going to look into getting him a Spanish pet passport as apparently you can use it to take the dog in the future without paying the ripoff price of the pet health certificate, I will post on here if successful.

I looked into getting a Spanish pet passport but it needed to have been done before Jan 2021. I had hoped that I would be able to get one through our local Turre vet, but I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to ask anyway using our Spanish address.

We obtained a Spanish pet passport for our dog from the vet in Vera playa, it cost just over €15 plus €25 for an up to date rabies jab. I asked the vet to stamp his new passport and our existing UK pet health certificate with the worming treatment required to return to the UK for backup incase the passport wasn't accepted. We arrived at euro tunnel Calais on Friday and I used his new pet passport without any problems at all.

This option definitely works and is much cheaper and easier than the pet health certificate which is so complicated that a lot of UK vets are not doing it anymore because of the paperwork involved. (My vet said I was The last one she was doing as it takes up so much of her time).

The only drawback is that you have to have a rabies jab once a year which must be administered by a Spanish vet and can't be done in the UK. But if you plan on taking your dog regularly it is definitely worth getting one.

Are you sure it’s got to be a Spanish vet.   is it not just an EU vet?   ie France if you can’t make Spain?
