Hi,
You will be.spoiled.for.choice!!!! We have our 4x4 with Linea Directa (Direct Line). Look on www. Everything by phone or e mail. Liberty Seguros in Albox.has good reviews, we have.both properties.with them, and also Ibex Insurance. They are all on Google Search.
Best wishes,

I’ll second Bob there - we have both our cars with Línea Directa and got very very good prices on insurance. I have been told that MAPFRE is “the best” but their prices will reflect that.

Hi, depends if you want to travel around Spain.
Most insurers have limit recovery for breakdowns of only 150 km. So if you breakdown beyond this limit you are stuffed.
Mapfre ( Spanish only) offer unlimited mileage recovery. So do Caser.
Some are as low as 60 km so check the small print and are limited to one incident.
Linea Directa offer unlimited recovery and for an extra 25€ hire car for breakdown.
None if this is to do with accident, I am warning about mechanical breakdown.
Say your engine management light comes on and puts your engine into limp mode and your on holiday 360 km from home.
You get your car towed to a garage then what about you and your passengers and all that holiday luggage. Your stuffed!
Check the small print on your insurance policy!!!!
I had the first tow (6km) back to my holiday apartment, free.
Next day dreaded eml light still on car running in limp mode. Cost my second tow 204€ to take the car to the nearest Citroen garage 32 km and 360€ for a hire car to get home.
Then I had to travel back to collect the car 260 km and then travel another 32 km further to drop of the hire car then drive home 292 km.
If I had been with one of the three insurers I mentioned above I would not have incurred any of this.
I was insured with Abbeygate. Ibex, Liberty and all the others are the same you will end up stranded if you breakdown beyond there strict pathetic limits.

Thank you thats great, it good to know the ins and out of the policies. That would have been our next search for car break down. We never released that insurance companies offered breakdown cover as well.

Car insurance is different to UK.
Besides we have nothing to compare with Uk breakdown insurers like Greenflag AA or RAC and so on.
The few that give cover like Coris and RAAC, the equivalent of the RAC in Uk, again have strict milage recovery limits.
Fine, if you are local to your home address when your car breaksdown. Dare travel more than 150 km and you are stuffed.
We inquired to these Spanish ones they do not compare with Linea Directa or Mapfre.
We have two cars the small one was covered by Linea the large SUV was insured with Abbeygate, it cost me a total of 650€ to get home 300 km ( outside their 150 km limit)
If I had the SUV insured with Linea they would have put us into a hotel and delivered a hire car whilst our SUV was being fixed. Cost to us to get home, zilch.
Trust this information helps. Wish someone had told us three month's ago about the cover required if you breakdown or have an accident more than most insurers limits in the small print of 150 km
We read lots of good intentional advice of the forums, but in hindsight the advice was given by folks who had never lost their mode of transport, beyond that limit of 150 km.
Of course if you do not travel around Spain, no problem. But looking back in the 7 years we have been in Spain we have often travelled beyond that 150 km limit on many occasions and ' days out'.
Makes you think when you understand.

With regards traveling - Rascalmate is dead right - it’s not difficult to go past 150km just on a “day out” here; the fabulous road network makes doing it very very easy.
