Why don't you use an exchange company like wise or XE they will hold the money for you untill you are ready to transfer it to where you want it to Go

If you put the money into Wise or XE they are exchange companys so when you are ready to complete the purchase you just ask them to issue you a bank draft from them you don't pay any money up front to anyone apart from the deposit in which is usually 10% and if they ask you to pay in cash make sure that the price you pay is shown upon the title deeds as if they are trying to show a much lower price that spells trouble for you in the future as the Spanish authority will come to you for any tax in which should have been paid but was not due to the seller trying to say that the property was sold to you for less than you paid for it..

Hello, a person in Palma is selling a (quite expensive) car, and wants me to pay 30% of the price before I can go there to see it.
I don't trust that person, so I also would like that deposit in a 'third party account'.
Is that also possible for lower amounts (like a car)?
If the seller doesn't agree, I suspect he's a scammer, and I will forget the whole thing,
TIA polowonder

Ask yourself why would you need to pay a deposit to see a car if you went to a garage they would not ask for a deposit before you arrange to see the car it same if you we're interested in buying a house.

You would arrange a viewing first then pay the deposit I would walk away it is probably a scam in capital letters.
