Bank account

It would be much better if you could get to the bank in person to sort out what is going on.  We paid less than £10 each to obtain our NIE numbers in the UK and it was easy to open a Cajamar account ourselves.  I would feel uneasy about the solicitor that you have used and in getting no response.  It might also be that your cards etc are waiting at the bank for you.  Double check everything  before transferring any money. Wow..your solicitor charged you 660 euros for an NIE and just opening a bank account. That is something that should have been less than 50 euros.

As soon as you get here change your Cajamar account o their online account called 'Wefferent'. It will save you a lot of money in commissions. I am not sure if it is for residents only though.

We were non resident when first opened our Wefferent account.  Very easy to use and can still go into the branch for any help.
