We had a PcR test in the pharmacy near Banco Sabadell near parque  commercial cost €50. It was checked at Almeria airport and we had no problems getting back to the uk. We took a second PCR test on line with DAM health which was waiting for us on our return. This cost £69. We did this our...

Hi Joan, really helpful info regarding PCR tests thank you, do you have the details of the chemist, address, how you booked etc?

Many thanks

Don’t know the exact address but it’s on mojacar playa a short walk from parque commercial on the way to Lopez Fernandez. We didn’t have to book as they were accepting walk ins.

Okay thanks Joan, very handy to know, how long did it take to get your results back?

You can get a lateral flow test in Mojacar at the pharmacy next to the Unicajar bank close to the commercial centre. The test is carried out in the clinic which is down the ramp and not in the pharmacy. They charge 50 euros, you don't need an appointment and the results take anything up to an hour depending upon how many people are getting tested. It can get busy. Take your passport or your passport details.

You get the result in an hour. Its near the commercial centre that is by the road that takes you up to the pueblo. The only shop i can remember it is near is called Abodes which is between cafe koi and cafe 353. You might be able to look them up on line. Unfortunately we are back in the UK so cant tell you exactly. If you are coming from garrucha a couple of miles down the road is parque  commercial on your right and if you carry on a few hundred yards the pharmacy is on your right. Don’t go up to the pueblo. Good luck

Its a clinic that apparently does lots of other tests while you wait and you actually get a piece of paper not an email which is good if you don’t have a printer My home town of Brentwood also does them same day. In the Mail today there are lots of people who never got their tests back in time and had to cancel flights. Its becoming quite a scandal

hope all goes well for you

What is a PCR test, or antigen or lateral flow test? Completely confused.  I keep reading about them, they might as well be in double dutch!    I have no intention if going anywhere just yet but would like to know what is what! Also what the difference is.

This is what I have read - the lateral flow test is like a pregnancy test where you get the result in 15-20 mins, and the PCR test has to go to a laboratory for a more thorough test and this can take 24 hours to get the result. That's why the PCR test is more expensive. The test at the pharmacy in Mojacar is the cheaper lateral flow test.
