We've had lots of posts asking for advice on how and where to get covid tests before travelling to/from Spain and I would like to compile a list of these suppliers so we can help others.

Please help by replying to this topic - please only reply if you can help with the answers to the below. For general discussion please use other topics.

Please let me know:

  • Where you received the test (location and contact details etc)
  • What type of test it was (PCR / Lateral flow / Antigen etc)
  • Cost of the test
  • Was it for travelling to or from Spain?
  • Whether you had any problems using it for travel?

I had a PCR test in Manchester on the 24th December 2020 right at the beginning of testing at BioGrad who also have labs in Liverpool.  They were very good, very efficient.  The Liverpool address is 131 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5TF phone number 0151 482 9695.  The have labs in other places so phoning this number would direct you.  Price was a problem because the test was on the 24th Dec and I was flying on the 26th December at a cost of £285.00.  If I had time I could of gone to Boots chemist for £110.00.

From all the info I have found, including that on the Spanish health site, if you are double jabbed, you do not need any additional tests. But you must have the EU Covid passport, which is easily downloaded from Andalusia Salud app

If you are going to the uk you do need a test, the UK gov are meeting tomorrow Thursday, to see if it needs to be upgraded to a PCR test.  If you travelling to the uk please be aware of any updated news.

Yes correct, but the question was also coming back to Spain to which my reply relates. Interesting about the UK changing the rules day to day. I am travelling to the UK next week. Gormless British politicians.

We had a PcR test in the pharmacy near Banco Sabadell near parque  commercial cost €50. It was checked at Almeria airport and we had no problems getting back to the uk. We took a second PCR test on line with DAM health which was waiting for us on our return. This cost £69. We did this ourselves and posted back. They email you the result within 24 hours. You need to have booked the return test before you can fly as the code needs to be mentioned on the locator form which you can do on line or print out. The whole experience was a fairly simple one although onerous
