Be prepared for a Brit type price off Pineapple. He was 5,500 euro more than the quote from Miquel at Brico Oller. Not exactly the same kitchen, but very very similar. He's been out and fitted the units, the granite guy has been out to measure up the for the granite worktops which will hopefully go in next week when I'm in Arboleas. So far I'm very happy.

Miquel has a showroom and shop in Albox, unfortunately no website, but google below.Cocinas y Electrodomésticos Brico OllerHis English is very limited, but my Spanish is limited and we managed to get what we wanted.

I had my kitchen fitted last year after a lot of messing around with expats and stupid prices being quoted.  You could try Maderas Viudez a large warehouse selling a whole range of things but they also have a kitchen showroom and kitchen planner, the lady speaks english and the prices are very reasonable, the place is just off the E15 north of Vera.

We used Homes & Beyond in Garrucha, more expensive but by wife liked a particular range they did so my budget came 2nd in the decision making process...

There is also a guy local to me who did both our bathrooms, I purchased the tiles (place in Garrucha, excellent quality and ridiculously cheap compared to the UK) also the bathroom furniture and fittings and I know, because one is a carpenter by trade, that he would have fitted our kitchen and had I known that before, I would have looked at buying a kitchen from IKEA in Murcia and had them fit it. So another option.

Take care. We have just had terrible experiences with IKEA in Almeria and Murcia. Almeria did the planning and ordering but over ordered by 600€ meaning we had to drive to Murcia to get refunds. Also some items were damaged when they arrived but they refused to give refunds implying we were lying. Wrote to complain but so far have been ignored. Would never use again

That sounds bad and not very good for IKEA's reputation, they are proud of their customer service.

Have you tried emailing Customer Service at IKEA head office and mention you are on forums and social media? You may get a different response.

Still waiting for a response from Customer Service and from the store in Almeria. Terrible customer service but they have over 3000€ from us so they don't care

I would always recommend to never pay the entire cost of an estimate until the job is done entirely to your satisfaction.  We are often taken for suckers here as we are too quick to pay the full amount when asked when no spaniard would consider doing a thing so foolhardy

In the UK we would normally get a bill after a tradesman or firm complete a job.  This also is the case  for lawyers in the UK but who are always asking for money up front here for this and that.. Here in Spain tradesmen tend to expect money in advance, but never pay more than 50% at the most if you can help it.

That was just the cost of the units!
