Hi, we are moving to Los Higuerales in May, and are deep in preparations and excitement! I’m going through a list of things we will need, because as yet I don’t know if we can buy them locally, so I’d like to ask where there is a shop that sells Indian spices, and also if there’s a shop similar to Holland and Barrett? I’d be really grateful for the info. Many thanks! :-)

Hi you will be able to get most things here from either Spanish shops or if not there are English ones that will either stock what you want it get it for you will just pay more than the Uk. There is an English shop similar to H &B too. Hope this helps and welcome to the area.

Bring spices, you will struggle to find indian basics. Curry powder yes, but you struggle with rest.

Hi,
Don't really know Albox as TTL we live 60km away. However there are a variety of Brit shops in Albox and failing these 3 Indian Restaurants where you can enquire.
Iceland in Vera sells Indian Spices & you may be able to enquire on their www.

Harrison's in Albox sell a good range of spices and other items to go with curries etc They are most helpful so I am sure if there is something they think may be worth stocking they will
Wide variety of nuts and seeds available in most supermarkets and the market. Honey available also. Not sure what you else you get from H & B

The corner shop in Albox has a good range of spices, but we often order large quantities online. Girasol in Albox is a good healthfood shop and lady is very pleasant and helpful

Hiu, there is a large market in Albox on Tuesdays and I think there are a couple of stalls that sell a very wide variety of spices, there certainly are on the big market in Huercal Overa on Mondays. Also, the other shops that other people have mentioned.

Thanks, Paul. Much appreciated! My husband loves my various curry creations so I can now tear up the growing list of spices I need!
