I can't answer definitively. But, an Irish television programme recently "Burnt by the Sun" did a piece on the area where a British couple had a beautiful building torn down for not having full planning permission. An Irish couple were expecting theirs to be pulled down also. A wide scan of the area was done by the television camera and the interviewee said all the buildings in the scan were "illegal" buildings.

Sorry! but if I vacate Mojacar Playa it won't be to Albox.

. . . . . I must agree, Policia don't catch too many motorists speeding to Albox. Nobody seems in a rush to get there.

Jennie,

You are dead right to be cautious. Wherever you decide to buy please, please employ a solicitor (gestor) to represent you alone. Don't share the solicitor of the estate agent or the vendor. Buying property in Spain can be a minefield where literally you could find yourself being one-seventh owner of the property, I kid you not.

Don't trust anybody.

Apologies for some of my earlier posts.

Matt
