What's happened to the climate change cult?

Right Jen-jen, let's keep the ball on the ground. We are not facing Doomsday with Covid-19, but it is a pandemic. It must be beaten and it will be defeated despite many who couldn't care a whit. 

Covid is not a light-hearted subject, many have died, businesses have gone under and it will be some time before our world is Covid free.

Let the Climate Change people off too. I'm sure they mean well. My planet loving cares are about poverty, famines, cleaner streets, more healthy food, etc. But, Climate Change won't kill us in the short term at least.

This , in my opinion is why the media basically now controls public thinking about wherever situation that they decide is most in the public’s mind at that moment. So what happened to Brexit ( remember that ? ) ,exam results , will soon be forgotten , in this modern world of social media that we are now bombarded with from every source, I feel that what they print or blog is how we ultimately think . Just my opinion as a 76 year old who views everything that we hear with bad news (and very little good news ) I view with very weary suspicion.                 Wouldn’t it be refreshing if we could hear about all the great things that are happening out there .

They are the only 2 subjects anybody can talk about,brexit,covid...that's it!

There never used to be any good news on the news before covid,now nothing else in the world is news worthy unless its covid related,at least covid has got that stupid girl Greta thunberg out of my face....

I presume you jest. If not, you appear to hold your countrymen and others in low esteem. In Ireland, radio is more popular than television for news items. Our newspapers generally are of good quality writing and opinions. Of course, there are the Irish Editions of some Red Tops. But, all the people I know can speak clearly, efficiently and accurately about many world news items. And it ain't just Covid or Climate subjects. You probably need to visit or terrace around lunch-time Monday - Saturday for good conversation. 

I'm not saying I completely disagree with you because we will always have the braindead amongst us i.e. those who can talk only about football and their year is ruined because Manchester this-or-that didn't win the Champions League or the dope who broke one of her false nails and thinks the entire world difficulties have cascaded around her. These cretins are probably all those of what real sport is not about. 

[I look at this forum and there are some good contributors (and you don't have to agree with me to be a good contributor) so intelligence is alive and well]. Mind you, there are also some dreadful contributors who'd make your average Sun Reader look good.

I wasn't very clear...I was referring to mainly Spanish news on TV,very limited info!!!

I'd all but forgotten about the newspaper!!!

People do still read those then??

we stopped watching the Spanish tv news ages ago because it was so boring and repetitive and those pesty Climate control bods are coming out of the woodwork for some protest marches because even with the lockdowns and the lack of traffic they are not happy with how things are going!  soon we will all be looking for a horse and cart to get around at least then you get manure for the roses.

They are all quite ridiculous, they're protests don't even make sense and I wouldn't be surprised if half of them don't know why they are even there!

If they really feel the need to protest about something they should lay off the cars and look up,Chem planes spraying s**t on everything all the time and the climate warriors never mention it,that's much more damaging than anything a car could ever do!

Rant over but now I've gone and mentioned chem trails....

Let's see who calls me a conspiracy  theorist first...LOL

I must admit, I laugh at “chem trails” because I’ve had someone of supposedly high intelligence point to an aircraft flying over and observe that the white vapor streaming back was “chem trails, to stupify and tranquílese the public”

I laughed. I laughed and laughed and laughed... because I’m ex RAF, I’ve done a LOT of flying ... and I know what contrails are - condensing water vapor as the wing moves through the air.

I’ve never yet had any definitive proof of “chem trails” ... again, like most suspicious fears (which is really all “conspiracy theories “ are, suspicious people afraid of what they don’t understand, making up explanations that satisfy their suspicions) the explanations just don’t stand up to scrutiny - or occams razor.

I'll tell you what Dario! I feel I good debate coming on!! (Rub hands together) 

I'm gonna think before I post and I hope to provide a decent argument mañana!
