Hi Everyone

Is there such a thing as Trading Standards which can handle a complaint.

Price quoted on a website and verbal quote at time of work done agree. But then invoiced for a completely different amount , which was taken from our bank account with no warning?

Any suggestions, please?

Not really any such thing as trading standards - here it’s regulated by “complaints book” all reputable trades and establishments will have one, it’s a condition of being registered.

Ask for the “Hojas de quejas y reclamaciones”

If provided, complete the complaint which is forwarded to Junta de Andalucia for investigation (assuming business is registered in Andalucia)

If they refuse or say they haven’t got one or ignore your request, then report that to Junta de Andalucia

Go to your bank and get them to take your money back from the traders account.

Unless you’ve paid by card, you can’t and even then, you have to have proof you’ve been defrauded.

I had a similar problem a few months ago and my bank took the money back no problem. Trader was obviously not amused. Went to see the trader and all now resolved at quoted price.
