Hi,

As above plus materials which I prefer to purchase myself so I can be assured of quality.

I expect the tradesperson to provide ladders/ scaffolding, etc and not bill client after client for their transient use.

What's your perception?

I expect the tradesman to do the job that he was paid to do, bring his own tools to complete the job, do the job in a timely manner and not exhibit the "mañana" attitude that many "blow ins" adopt and finally be competitively priced, I had several painters at our Villa to quote us for the exterior of the house, the price excluding materials ranged from €700 - €3000, I mean seriously.

Never asked this, but work out the hours spent on the job x number of workpersons & calculate the hourly rate.

Hi I totally agree with you I provide everything if you prefer to get materials that's fine  If I was having work done I'd prefer to get my own materials you'll be givenone quote and one bill I wouldn't expect someone professional to turn up to my home and say have u got a pair of ladders and a roller I could use and I definitely wouldn't want to be quoted one price and then give another price don't get me wrong sometimes things don't always go to plan but if something was to happen I'd always discuss it with my client first and if there was an extra charge I would have to have the go ahead first before I preceded and I've never heard of someone billing for their transit use .when ur given that quote that is what ur bill should be and if ur a professional you have all the tools you don't expect the person you're doing work for to provide  your tools for you .bring your own that's what we are there for so it's no stress to the customer you would do it yourself otherwise Leigh

Being a tradesman myself I always list everything separately so labour and not just materials but materials separately too, which gives client choice to remove said item or upgrade or downgrade . Trouble is “billy” the builder comes over , (apologies ) if named billy lol

And overcharges for something or makes a mess of a product or works on property uninsured etc etc etc , I could go on for ten pages having also worked for the building industry in the insurance sector , I’m afraid then that aforementioned “billy” get the rest of us tarnished with same brush .

All I can say is there’s loads of work out here whatever trade you do cod we can always do it better , sit at the bars and just listen to the stories , but overall it’s simply zero difference here it’s just that people are more connected with social media , in fact the uk is far far worse .

Every week I walk into a different clients house and think omg what in the hell has happened here , tbh at first you think it’s a bad diyer . But often turns out it was some one that “does everything “ lololololol

Yeah erm , no insurance , no Iva , no warranty ,

No pride no ,,,, I could go on hahaha

Just my professional opinion . Ps not aimed at anyone just thought I’d comment whilst I enjoy my semi retired day off .😆 and I do enjoy them tbh but I’m addicted to work too , can’t win 😞

Obviously the know all siamese twins did not answer my question "how much would you expect a self employed tax paying tradesperson to charge per hour?

I was going to say a lot more but will paste this instead.
