"The New Normal" and who said "Let's Get Brexit Done" and of course wait 'til the Public Servants get back to work and all will be OK? Under the Radar expat motorists are eyeing up police road blocks like East Germans used to eye up the Stazi (forgive the misspelling).

And the Daily Telegraph readers (Tories, just in case you're not clued in) which includes the Panama Hat Brigade keep on saying Brexit was not the cause of anything untoward to expat Brits. They're always right (ask their female partners) and the German Blitzkrieg in Poland had nothing to do with...

... the outbreak of World War 2.

I launched a suggestion on this forum over a year ago to have people contact their MP's asking  "forgiveness" for expats under the radar in Spain. I contacted the Irish Foreign Minister who represented the situation and when he reverted to me stated there wasn't much stomach in UK political circles for such "forgiveness."  I can't see many supporting the under the radar people on this forum either (me being one exception).

Sheer power of numbers is going to stop the eventual rolling of the dreaded one-way bus to Gibraltar packed exclusively with under the radar  English speaking people (minus their dogs and cats). The super-rooted Tory supports  keep saying this. Why am I not holding my breath? And of course Brexit is not to blame.

a lot of the people posting here are  the expats that you are talking about'why' should they get forgiveness they new the rules would change'they' new that things would change after Brexit,so in their dilemmas Brexit has nothing to do with it,they new what would happen but chose either to ignore it or think we are British they wont do this to us,but they have, the rules are not mostly new rules they were there many decades before Brexit BUT everyone ignored it or turned a blind eye

CJ has done it again i.e. pointing out the facts of how good it is to be Irish.

For the record:- This week 100 years ago the Brits pulled out of what is now the Republic of Ireland. They got fed up with fighting with us and so we started fighting amongst ourselves. Now we can only fight with the EU, but we're not stupid.

Seriously though -There's a lack of empathy here with the under the radar Brits here. Perhaps the Brits are capable of fighting amongst themselves too? But, my empathy lies with the under the radar Brits who are 65+ and who are not up to date on all things digital. I hope some for of "amnesty" can happen for them, at least.

lol.  Once the Tories realise, THEY don’t want to sit a test either ,to retire to their place in Spain  it will change. I think Spain are just using it as a leverage point for Something else   Or, does the Golden Visa cover the swap ?   Then the plebs can go S-1t

Forget about the Tories inasmuch as you think what they will do to help anybody in Spain because they won't. It is bred into them to help nobody but themselves. Ask Boris if you don't believe me?

Incidentally, the Irish Passport Office is still inundated with Brits wanting to acquire an Irish Passport. This is great to see as they will be able to spend six months continuously in Spain and we Irish might be able to put a football team together to qualify for something, at least. There are six players on the England team who would have qualified to play for Rep of Ireland but for some unknown reason (to me) opted to play for England.

No government have in the past or in the future will be too bothered about expats and the         Problems  they are experiencing in their new country.

Expats on a pension are spending their income outside the UK so not financial benefit to the UK.

Simple as that.
