Hello, my name is Ivy and I am in my early 90s. I shall be arriving in the Albox area in the next few months and I am wondering if there are any groups I could join. Mainly to chat and maybe a G&T or two. It would be nice to make new friends and meet up sometimes during the week

Hello Ivy

Firstly let me offer you an 'all the best' in your move to Albox.

I have lived here for 3 years now, in a predominantly Spain area, and speaking honestly I love it here.

Ivy I noted you only posted this information question on the 16th July; so it's early days yet. But I was surprised to see the lack of response to your post !!

There are many groups, hopefully that will suite you in & around Albox, who meet socially, arrange trips, have tea dances, quizz nights.

Althoug I not a great users of these, hopefully I can give you a few pointers

Chapmans bar grill-cafe do a lot of social events, and is really popular with British ex-pats, I'm sure you'd enjoy a G&T and make friends there.

Also there is the 'Almanzora group of Friends' who run from a dedicated library based in the old part of Albox (Barrio Alto).

There are coffee mornings, meetings, information sources & trips that are provided by this facility.

Ivy there are many more for you, hopefully you'll receive more information regarding your request from the Costa de Almería forum members ; there is also a dedicated section on the the website for the Albox area.

If you need any further info, just drop me a line. Remembering that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a hugh impact on all social groups & socialising here in Spain

All the best and good for your move here

Steve

Hi Ivy, about to check out the Almanzora Group of Friends ourselves and always willing to meet up for a coffee/chat when you get settled here.  My partner lives in Albox and gets a bit lonely when I'm not around.
