I am hoping to travel back to the UK next month (June). Can anybody help me in what I have to do…

Is it Air Ticket First

Then.   Once I have flight date get a PCR Test (€)

Then buy online my 2/8th day Test Kit

I have Resendency here so will I be able to come back to Spain

Many thanks

Hi Lowie

We’ve just returned to U.K. and we booked flights (after 7 cancellations we waited until it was confirmed)

Next we ordered the day 2 & 8 tests

Next we had our fit to fly tests. We didn’t do PCR just the cheaper rapid tests in a clinic in Almería and they gave us paper results

Finally we did the locator forms

We printed everything out which was much easier than fiddling around with phones.

We had no problems at all and of course the rules will have changed by June no doubt. Safe journey

Hi until it charges this was my experience last week.

Book flight

Test within 48 hours prior to arrival UK, pre booked day 2&8

Fill in government form on internet not more than 48 hrs before arrival.

Have an address to self isolate for ten days you can use more than one.

Myself I had the tests done at test center no more expensive but guaranteed returned. I used collinson they were excellent.

I had a optional day five booked which I had to cancel and was not charged for.

My return test was collinson also and returned in 90 minutes.

There was a Spanish form to complete to come back also

Make sure you have either paperwork or proof of tests and appropriate paper work I saw people get turned away both ends.

Ryanair like you to check in at the desk whatever and ask you to arrive 2.5 hours before flight.

Thanks for your help

But if I wanted to go back to England in the next 2 weeks   First where do I get my test to FLY.     Second where do I get my test kit

from.   Does that test kit come from the English Government web site.

Sorry about this.    And how much are these tests.    Thanks.  Mr Lowe

Hi

Depending where you live there are numerous places that do it. I live near Vera and EV clínicas do It, a pharmacy in mojacar also does the tests.

Make sure you get the correct one as it should only cost around 45€ ...I first got told over a 100€.

Re UK tests there are links from government website gov.uk but there have been some horror stories from people I know.

Day two test never arriving, day 8 arriving on day 13. However if you intend to self isolate for ten days and not test to release on day 5 it doesn't really matter as you can leave on day 11 if you have no symptoms.

There are reviews online about the people who do the tests and you are allowed to travel to a location to have the test of you wish.

Day 1 starts from midnight the day after you arrive and you have to isolate to midnight on day 10.

They phoned me most days never actually asked where I was

But they should I was informed ring until your phone rings of or the answer machine cuts in. One day I was rung twice and not given the opportunity to answer.

Isolation means not leaving the house at all, but you can stay with someone and they don't have to isolate

I came back to U.K. in April and was one of those with a horror story about the day 2/8 tests.  They never arrived from the supplier listed on the Government website, and, as I understand it, you are legally obliged to have the tests whether or not you isolate for 10 days.  This does not seem to be enforced however as  test and trace callers accepted what I said and gave me email addresses for contacting NHS about this as well as complaint email for company concerned.  In fact I was able to get some PCR tests from my daughter-in-law who runs a care home so I complied with the law as far s I could.  These were not provided by a company on the Govt’s list but system worked fine. The companies on the government website are not approved in the sense that someone has checked their credentials, merely that they have filled in an online application form to the test/trace unit, and frankly the whole thing seems a bit of a scam.  I did the5 day test to release with Collinson at the airport - you are allowed out to go for a test!- and can confirm they were great in my experience

When you buy the day 2 & 8 tests, you will be given a reference number.  This number must be entered on your passenger locarion form that needs to completed within 48 hours of your flight to UK.
