Hi my husband and I will be relocating to Spain (hopefully Vera) next year. My husband has the benefit of an Irish passport as well as a British one, and I just have a British one. We are married so I know I can derive my right to reside through him. My question is how much do we each have to show in earnings or savings? I know the IPREM is €600 per month from this year. I assume he has to show this, but do I have to show the 400% being British only? It’s all very confusing. TIA.

Hi

I'm certain ( but please seek professional advice ) that as your Husband has an EU Passport that you are correct in saying that you only require €600 per month. I see no reason why you should need anything more than the equivalent amount.

Indeed for third country national visa applications, for example  you need to demonstrate proof of 400% IPREM with a 100% extra per beneficiary (spouse, child etc), so for 2023, here’s an example:

I find it difficult to think they would want anymore than 100% for a beneficiary who is married to an EU citizen.

But please take some professional advice.

Hope all goes well
