...ospitals and centro clinics be obligated to employ a bi-lingual receptionist. They all have receptionists, why not a bilingual one? Instead of just employing the first grumpy old woman that comes along, as with centro de Salud Vera.

At one stage it slowed down and we travelled back to our holiday home, but on the way it started bleeding profusely again, so we returned.  Guess what, my wife was seen by a doctor and sent back to the waiting room!

This was two years ago, when Google translate was not as reliable as it is now.  I ask you this, faced with a situation where a loved one is bleeding and has teeth through their lip, would you go searching for a translator or take them to hospital?  Regarding locating a translator while in hospital, might it be a good idea for the hospital to have a list of translators able to discuss medical issues over the telephone (as happens in the UK and other countries we have lived in)?

I am not going to get into arguments with you, because a) I couldn't care less what you think. b) you have proved already that you are not prepared to listen or even consider any view that differs from your own.  c) unfortunately, you are that fixed in your views that even another atomic bomb on Palomares would not change your mind that everything in Spain is rosey. d) this is supposed to be a community forum where ex pats share experiences and support each other, not a platform for venting your splien if anyone has the temerity to flag up concerns about Spanish services.

The only reason I came on here is because I could not believe my wife when she told me about the bigoted responses she received from some contributors when she explained what happened to her, they are as uncaring and  unsympathetic as the treatment she received in the hospital.

Life is too short to argue with people with closed minds; It is utterly futile, so this will be my last post on this forum and the last time I even bother to visit the site.   I will leave you free to find someone else to insult, it obviously keeps you occupied.
