I am looking for a PETROL vehicle as a run about.   I am disabled and at present have a fiat.qubo which is a diesel car and not suitable to just use on short journeys. Also as i get more disabled i find the boot extremely heavy and difficult for me to open.  I need a vehicle similar to a Peugeot partner or Citroen berlingo with back opening doors.  Most are diesel i know but i need something  which is not too high at the back for lifting a mobility stroller.  Age and mileage is not too important providing it has been serviced regularly and all the paperwork in order i.e. ITV etc.  A hatchback even with 5 seats 2 of which would go flat but still be able to carry at least 1 passenger in the back. My husband is over  6ft tall so no sloping windows please otherwise he bangs his head! Pm if you have such a vehicle for sale.  Thank you.

I understand your requirements but bear in mind if you go for a puegot partner or the like you will need to ITV it every 6 months so that may make a difference to your preferred choice of vehicle

Thank you for your reply.  I didnt realise those sort of cars had to have an itv  every 6 months would. Confer with  my garage before buying anyway.   My fiat is not 6 years old until December and is only due for its 2nd itv then.   Its just that diesel cars  do not serve our purpose as stated in my original message.

May I inquire as to why Diesel doesn't suit your purposes?  You state mileage is unimportant, but a diesel engine will far outlast a petrol engine and is much much more fuel efficient

Because a diesel car has to be given a good run every now and again to clear the exhaust (don't ask me why) and as we are both in our 80s and not in the best of health in fact i have a disabled parking permit with no termination date on it (indefinido). We cannot cope with long journeys even as far as Almeria.  That is why we want a runabout to help us shop in and around our area.  The dealer never told me all these things when we bought the car less than 2 years ago.  We are both still capable of driving of course but wouldn't attempt  a long journey.  I realise you are only trying to help  and thank you..    but in the end we want a petrol car.

With newer diesels, that's a fallacy.  They have Particulate Filters and regen to clear the particulates.  I say "newer", but my 2005 Peugeot 407 did just that.

Short runs will kill a petrol engine as well - a diesel will be much more durable

You're not quite correct on that. The sooty particles are trapped by the DPF and if the car isn't given about a half hour run (15 minutes to get the dpf up to temp and 15 minutes to burn off the contaminates) then the DPF WILL block up over time. That scenario applies to cars circa 2005 to 2012. Later cars are better/quicker at this process but you're still looking at 20 to 25 minutes running to avoid dpf problems.

If you can't do this once a week or so, then I'd suggest the OP is wise to source a petrol car.

I explained in my first message that i needed a car with very little height at the back i cannot lift my mobility stroller over a car's rear which has a high lip as it were that's why i quoted a partner or berlingo type vehicle.   You are not going to persuade me  Dario so i would give up.   I need something more constructive and will start my search more seriously at the end of the summer when this heatwave is over.

I am also going to be looking for a 2 bed ground floor apartm,nñ ent with gated parking space.  Permanent of course.         Know anyone who has one that will become vacant. September or October time?⁷. You seem to be a fount if knowledge in most  things.  Must be las marinas/las conchas/lss Buganvillas to pueblo laguna area?

There are various different models in both types of engine.  As pointed out, a partner or Berlingo will require an ITV twice a year.

We’ve just bought a Peugeot 3008 (Diesel) which has an upright tailgate as well as a lower portion that drops down for easy loading - was just wondering if you’d expand your search to the 2008 / 3008 models of Peugeot
