Does anyone know where I can buy firewood for my log burner?  I only need a relatively small amount (to last for three days), and would prefer to collect the wood from a shop myself rather than await delivery.

Hi, apologies but don't know your area. Lots of adverts for firewood/logs in the free press. Also if you can.get to Albox there is a huge  log yard on the main road in from Arboleas/Huercal Overa somewhere opposite Longos. It's so huge you can't miss it. Also at any Market there is a log lorry at this time of year.

Hope that helps in.some way.

Season's Greetings

Thanks, Bob.  I'll try that.

Someone has also mentioned that petrol stations sell bags of firewood so I'll have a look at those too.   My problem is that my house is newly built so when I come over to visit I need a small supply of firewood to keep me going for a couple of days until I can arrange a delivery.

Correct but often it is little better than kindling. We have used Wood2Go on the Velez Rubio Poligono and it's a Brit Company and the team are just so helpful. They would advise you where to buy I should think.

You will see that you can buy Almond, Orange, Eucalyptus in various places. We like Orange as it is a medium slow burner and you sometimes get the aroma. We find Almond expensive and too slow a burner although it can stay in overnight. We also collect pallets at bins in poligonos and chain saw them up. It's rubbish wood but good for kindling and boy does it throw out some heat.

Hope some of this is helpful.
