Hi there, I did contact my electrician Domingo who is a fully registered electrician/plumber/AC & Solar and since finding him years ago we have never had a problem at either property.. He also has a shop in Puerto Lumbreras. He reply was equivocal but he is with me on Thursday to fit an AC at the apartment and I will enquire again. I checked the distance from PL to your.village & really it's no more than to Mojacar.

The other thing I might suggest is this. Would you care to e mail him either in english or spanish on Google Translate and ask if he would be prepared to visit & inspect and that you would be prepared initially to collect from.his shop in PL; that is if you have transport while out here.

Anyway let me know & will send e mail.address.

By the way my e mail is [email protected]  which might be easier.

Bob and Sandra

Hi again, it's

[email protected]

Please remember Domingo is non English speaking but we send in English on whatsapp & e mail and he translates. Just in case you have whatsapp it's

0034 609 48 60 57

The best of luck & have also asked friends with a business in VR if they have any suggestions. Did your Solicitor not help?

Bye again,

Bob and Sandra

Hi again, as I mentioned previously I also contacted an established Company in VR-Wood to Go, you may know them and we have used them over the years. Anyway they have just come back to me and of course mentioned if your property had electric laid to it in the first instance and was it a question of re-connection or does a line need to be laid to the house. In either case Endesa the electric company.

However they also mention a Kerry Fagg who has access to contacts and is setting up some form of agency to assist ex-pats. Her Telephone is 0034  644 422 572. Sarah at Wood2Go thinks she may be able to help you.

So there we are I can only hope that helps. If you get a chance to find www.wood2go on line and send Sarah a thankyou I am sure that would be appreciated.

I will end by again striking a note of caution. An electrician needs to be Registered and Legal and we have instances of non-such practising and then having to call on a registered electrician to sign off on their work which then has to be signed off by Endesa. So a cascade of fees. Also if there are a number of providers then get written quotes. Again we have a Spanish guy in Santa Maria,/ Huercal Overa, unless he has moved who gives no written estimate/bill, wants to be paid in cash and then when things go wrong you have no come back. This one we are personally taking to Court unless he has disappeared. We have already denounced him to the Guardia. So you see even after 13 years one can still get caught out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, every best wish for your future in Spain.

Bob & Sandra

Hi Bob and Sandra,

Very sorry to hear about your trouble but are very pleased with the helpfull information you have given us, it is an old house that did have electricity at one point but has since been disconneceted for a long period of time. When we bought the house it did not have an outside box to display the meter but we have since put one in. we believe that a cable may need to be installed to run the electricity to the house, unfortunately our solicitor was a crook. the house we purchased was only for sale for 1000 euros but the english estate agents that sold the house marketed it for 11000. and we ended up being conned out of 10.0000 euros so we know how corrupt society can be in spain.

we thank you very much for the contacts you have given us and will stay in touch to let you know our progress.

Kind regards justin and Maureen
