Cortijo reform in Velez Rubio area
Hi everyone,
We are in the process of buying an old farmhouse to reform and wonder if anyone else has recently embarked on such a project as we have many questions.......?!
A few things that are occurring to us initially are:
1. We appreciate that buying in the campo can be a complicated process and that we need to be very careful that the legalities are in order. Has anyone got any advice or recommendations on this and any recommendations for a good lawyer?
2. We also need to find a local architect, (preferably English speaking as our Spanish is only at beginner level at the moment!), who knows the local systems and who is used to dealing with the local town hall regarding the reform process, AFO etc. Has anyone got any recommendations?
3. Has anyone else gone through a similar planning process recently? We were wondering about possibly trying to raise the roof on the property and wondered if anyone has any experience with this with the local planning laws assuming we didn't extend the existing footprint of the property?
4. We're also hoping to install a solar power system to the property as there is no power at present. Any advice or recommendations for this?
