Anyone used gold car alicante airport,? If so I am returning the car tomorrow and I am unsure if I park it back in the bay I got it from or park in front of the office as they say they need to check for damage and that the tank is full before unblocking my credit card, also asking for petrol receipts but not got any as filled up as I drove, I'm really worried tia

My experience of Goldcar was mostly good until the last time I dropped off in February. The guy was a right little jobsworth. He went over the car with a fine tooth comb even though I'd taken out the "Super" insurance which means no excess. Found a couple of tiny marks which may or may not have happened in my care (No idea, I didn't inspect it) and they then charged me 12 euro as they said it wasn't fully topped up.

Follow the hire car return signs, then you have to go right round the parking structure to the back entrance (signed Goldcar among others) and up to the 2nd level where they want you to park into the bays close to the back of the Goldcar office so they can inspect the car. Too late now, but the watchword is do a very thorough check of the car before taking it if you don't take out the full insurance.

Thankfully we don’t need to hire a car. On my brother’s experience never, ever use this company. They tried unsuccessfully to stitch him up. He sued them and got damages.

Sued them for what?  I’ve had good and bad experiences with Goldcar so intrigued

They said there was damage to the car, took money from his credit card. So that’s taking money under false pretences. He was able to provide his solicitor with a video, showing no damage, when he returned the car.  I don’t know the actual charges against the company but he was awarded damages, and they had to pay his costs.
