Can anyone recommend a reliable and trustworthy company to transport our household goods from the west Midlands to turre later this year?  We're planning on much bringing pretty much everything.  Thank you.

HI,

There are so many Companies but for a full household then

www.jimbothescot.com

He does monthly runs and has a depot outside Birmingham.

Excellent website with contact details, schedules, etc.

If it had been a smaller load then Andy & Cheryl of

www.meandmrsjonestransport.co.uk

It may be worth asking Andy & Cheryl anyway as they are such VFM & lovely people.

Best wishes for the move,

Hi Karen

We've just used Indalo Transport, Mojacar, for the same. Excellent, professional service and completed without a hitch. Highly recommended.

There are factors at play in moving goods from the UK to here that are not immediately obvious - for example, do you have a strict timescale? If yes, then ask the provider if they will be moving the goods themselves or laying off to another mover?

I was quoted for transportation by road train (from one of the above) which is where the person you employ uses a call-off contractor and they don't really move your goods themselves, they just collect from a large drop off point and bring them to you on a 'final leg' type basis.

The road train quote was significantly more and the timescale was a huge increase on a quote I had from a UK based mover who picked up and dropped off within 3 days - so bespoke vs wholesale you could say and bespoke was priced better.

I'd say shop around, some local movers seem complacent - Good luck

We used Fred Phillips and they were fantastic.  They were very flexible as our dates at both the U.K. end and here kept changing and were much more competitively priced than some of the other companies we spoke with. Our furniture arrived in the same condition it left the U.K. in and using their packing service meant we didn’t have a single breakage.

we have used Jimbo the Scot several times for bringing belongings over to Bedar from the midlands.  He makes regular trips, dates as advertised on his website, but will fit in a full house move as required from the UK.  Can't recommend him highly enough.  truly a great service at a great price.

We have just used International Movers http://www.moversint.co.uk/ James Moss at Preston arranged everything for us tel 01772 651 570.

We had a partial load (3 bed house) and they collected from us in Somerset, took it to Preston, consolidated our partial and then delivered to our chosen storage location in Antas. Very good service and for us the most economical. We packed ourselves but they will offer a full packing service if required. They also have their own storage locations in Alicante and Malaga if needed.

Regards
