Might just add that prior to having the enclosure we had a large wooden pergola out back, with black and green grape vines that were harbouring the wasps, where flies come from who knows,

You can get yellow crystals from various ferretarias that once diluted with water will kill flies with abandon.

Anyways we got shut of the vines, got shut of the pergola and the wasp problem all bar dissapeared, we still had some that migrated to a nearby tree but not that many, thats coming down soon so as much as its possible to do we have done or are doing.

The UK has rain and wind and generally crappy weather, we have some flies and wasps lol, we'd much rather be here lol.

Just caught in all the rain but we need it here so much and it saves me from watring the plants lol! We don't do any outside cooking but I can see your point that an enclosure is the way to go to beat the flies etc

We have now been in Agua Nueva for 18 months and after months of various building modifications and renovations we are starting to relax more. We can step back and enjoy what has been done to make the place look smarter. There will always be other little jobs of course but nothing that causes extra dust. There is enough in the air already without adding to it!

We have moved here lock, stock and barrel and have no intention of going back to the UK. They can keep all the huge bills and the feeling of dread when they drop through the door. Going to work just to pay the bills was no joke but we have retired now here in beautiful Spain and intend to make the most of our retirement!

We have a little dog, Maisie and an old cat of 13 yrs, Tigger and currently rent a villa in Arboleas until the relocation to our new villa.
Before we came to Spain I was involved in rescue charities and because of my love of animals have studied canine behaviour and dog training. When we have settled I would like to continue with rescues in the area and would welcome any ideas as to how to help.
