Hi to everyone. Thinking about buying some property in Turre, first to spend some months a year and after to move permanently.

Could someone who lives there tell me what are the best things of living there and what are the worst

As well if they are many burgleries in flats that are not constantly occupied or risk of occupation.
Thank you very much

Best:

Prices are generally cheaper than at the coast

Good quality Spanish businesses there - some restaurants/cafes etc.

An excellent local family run gym catering for all nationalities and with fully qualified, bilingual teachers.

Easy links by car to the N340 motorway and access to airports.

Exclusive shuttle airport run service based there.

Some immigrants who genuinely try to adopt their new country of residence, expect that certain things are done in the Spanish way because this is Spain and who try to learn to communicate in Spanish.

Worst:

British immigrants who insist they are "expats" not immigrants , who moan about their Spanish neighbours and the local services, who expect everyone will speak English and who want everything to be like "home" ( Coronation Street in the sun syndrome).

First of all are you sure you will be able to retire here? Things are different now since brexit..... so maybe it will just be a holiday home! We live in Los Gallardos just up the road and only visit Turre for the market.... other than that to us it is just somewhere you drive through..... we have coffee when at the market but not one of the places are any better than elsewhere.... Los Gallardos does have a bus service down to mojacar twice a day each way.....10 minutes away..... So come and stay around the area, and have a look around.  Good luck

Hi

Do you know what time the buses are from Los G to Mojacar? And can you buy tickets on bus, or do you have to do online?

Cheers

Dave

Hi, defiantly rent first as there are mixed opinions, make up you own minds, if you buy then don't like it you have all the expense of moving again and its not cheap, we rent in Turre, until we move in a couple of months, been here about 18 months, would not buy here even though property is cheaper, not for us, not enough going on and a bit out of the way for us, have a good look around the surrounding areas  towns etc, sure take on board what people have to say, there are much better locations than Turre,

Hi

Thinking of purchasing in Turre.

Does the local supermarket in Turre deliver groceries to the local area?

What are the taxi services like/available/cost?

Appreciate advice

If you have to rely on public transport then I fear Turre is not for you. No bus service at all. Taxis approx 20 euros each way to Mojacar/ Garrucha in the day time.... more at night. Try looking at los gallardos.... busses twice a day from there.  Have never heard of deliveries from the turre shops.... but think mercadona might in Mojacar..... if you can work out the order page!
