Hello does anybody know if I stay 90 days in mainland Spain , can I then spend any further time in Gibraltar . As long as I don't come out of Gibraltar except by plane back to Manchester , or is Gibraltar still classed as being in the Schengen area ??

Gibraltar is not classed as EU and is not a schengen country. So 90 days Spain, then you leave and go to Gibraltar. 90 days later, you can re-enter Spain. Enjoy.

If you have spent 90 days in the Schengen area, the only requirement is that you “exit  the Schengen area for an equivalent period”, so as long as you get an exit stamp in your passport crossing from Spain to Gibraltar, you have complied as Gibraltar is not in the Schengen … YET … but to get around the whole issue of hundreds of cross-border workers travelling between Gibraltar and La Linea on a daily basis, there are moves afoot to bring Gibraltar into the Schengen and have EU border force at the Airport.  I’m not sure of the status of that.
