. . . Bless their little hearts.

You're not going g to believe this and Jenni certainly won't.

I have had cats. First cat was Boot ( short for Wellington ) ( You cannot stand on the doorstep and shout 'Wellington!' Just not right. He was a big boy but got lonely in his old age.

After he died I decided we'd have twins ( cats that is! ) So we welcomed Bubble and Squeak to the family. They both had great lives and shared the house with us and our Golden Retriever.

They died.

The dog ( bitch, done. ) was distraught so we got another pair of lovely kittens, Tom and Jerry. There were indeed Hanna Barbera. They were characters I have the scars to remember them by.

Cat LOVER, no. Do I like cats? Yes. Do they like me? Not necessarily. But I am happy to co-exist in this world with them.

It is not the cats I take issue with. It is merely people who think they know better than nature.

Bless their little hearts,

tn

It has a nice Marina - have sailed into it and sailed out of it, I have driven into it and driven out of it - once, but in all honesty thats about all I can tell you about the place. I do remember lots of greenhouse acres ( tomatoes ) and the town seemed just like any other town ( sorry, not criticising all you who live in RDM ). I was happy to get back to Mojacar.

What draws you to RDM? Boats?

Shops in Mojacar Playa & Mojacar Pueblo:- The Playa has three serious supermarkets probably superior to large supermarkets in the English speaking parts of Europe. The bread section alone leave the UK for dead; the fish sections are excellent too. All in all grocery shopping is cheaper in Spain but if you want your Western Europe branded items you'll pay for them. But, I reckon it isn't grocery shopping your're too interested in.

Boutiques:- Parque Commercial is the main shopping complex in Mojacar Playa. It alone has enough ladies' wear and shoe shops to keep you shopping for hours. Straddled along the Playa you'll come across other ladies' wear shops which if you're prepared to spend money they'll remain open after their usual hours of business.

Markets:- On different days each nearby town including Mojacar Pueblo, Garrucha, Vera, Carboneras would have a market day where everything you think you could wear or hang up on a curtain rail or place on a bed or on a floor is buyable and at relatively cheap rates. Be aware that Spanish pillow sizes, bed-sheet sizes etc are not the same so perhaps on your first visit to the markets you'd need somebody who speaks some Spanish. "Matrimonio" bed does not translate into Super King Size in Spanish. Food (fruit and veg) can also be purchased at the markets.

If you don't wish to be confined to Mojacar Playa, Mojacar Pueblo or the markets then nearby Garrucha and Vera are a good shopping towns. Hop on a bus and pay all of €1.20 per adult and you're in Vera or Garrucha. If you tell me you wish to shop in Iceland in Vera, I'll stop posting. The shopping for jewellery, clothing, shoes, cosmetics, in Vera and Garrucha is excellent.

Garden Centres:- All are excellent repeat All are excellent.

All the very good restaurants/bars will be open during March along with some others. Some of the hotels may still be closed during March. The Irish Rover will still have its music nights along with The Salty Dog and Tito's. The Beach Bars (across the road from Parque Commercial) are worth a whirl during March too. Sit outdoors in rustic settings enjoying the sound of the sea. Koi near Parque Commercial has beautiful coffee and supply free tapas (handy place for breakfast too even if you want the Full English) - sit down and watch the human world go by. Bella Vista opens early in the year, but still you may have to book, Levante will be operating along with La Cabana (all top of the range restaurants with menu del diá  - 3 courses for around €14.50. The Irish Rover does a Sunday Lunch Special (wait for it . . . .) Roast like mother used to do!!!!
