Thanks for your reply juanida, definitely don't want English foods I love aldi food especially their sun dried tomatoes in oil and artichoke hearts so I was wondering if they stocked similar things to what they do in England..also I find mercadona fruit and veg rather expensive so I wondered if aldi was a little cheaper.

I was just wondering if the new aldi is on par with the one's in the UK,are the prices and range of goods similar...I won't be out until later in the year and usually I bring over quite a few bits with me but now we have an aldi on the door step I probably won't bother...many thanks.

This message is a tad too late to reply to the original question, however, I find lots of items in Aldi of good quality and fairly priced. Most of what they sell is German brand and of course depends on your taste, so try before you decide its not good enough. As for having the same products as Manchester or other English cities, they are catering to the large German group that spend the winter and sometimes the whole year here and has nothing to do with English consumers, who rightly shop in Iceland & co who cater to their tastes. After all, we are different in our choices of most everything, and thank the heavens for that!

Hi Jane,

The new Aldi is nothing like in the Uk is all Spanish products with little Uk brands 1or 2 thats all

Kath

Question for Jane,  Why do you think an  Aldi in Spain would sell English food. Do you know of any Indian restaurants that sell French food,  probably not, Well its the same in Spain, they sell Spanish food. Stands to reason dont you think. You will get use to just eating Spanish food, i promise

Hi, i think you will find even in the UK  that Aldi stock a great deal of German food, after all they are a German company. They also stock quite a lot of Spanish food as does the UK.

The Aldi sells baked beans and Marmite. What more do you need?

Many will say it’s Spain not uk so why would it sell British food ? But in uk we sell all types of food , most supermarkets including Aldi sell Indian , Chinese. Jewish , carribean , Italian. , spanish , etc I wonder what will happen when we’re out of the EU ? When I was I Germany you got British food and France too .. but I understand  that the country the shop is in has to sell the country’s food .. only fair .. only thing I miss in Spain is bread as the spanish bread I find to sweet. .. tiger bread and hovis haha

I think my question was a bit misconstrued, I didn't mean I hope they sell english products ie..heinz beans and hp sauce and many others, as someone said I'm sure you can buy in Iceland if you really wanted them..I meant I hope they sell the same sort of lines they sell in England like all their anti pasti and oils and sun dried tomatoes and peppers in oil and of course Spanish food selections too...I adore spanish food and I would definitely not be shopping in Iceland for english food while I'm away..

Yes I understand. And as you know. Iceland while might be ok , imo it’s not the quality of Waitrose marks or most supermarkets in uk it’s also funny how many Spanish think we live on chips haha or burgers sausages etc etc .. when most brits prefer Indian , Chinese, Greek food etc ...

We used to live in Lincolnshire and the Asda at Boston had whole Aisles catering for the polish people as so many live and work there

They also supply translators free of f charge and MST forms come in many different languages.

I can’t even get an email from my Spanish bank in English.🙄🙄🙄
