I was just wondering if the new aldi is on par with the one's in the UK,are the prices and range of goods similar...I won't be out until later in the year and usually I bring over quite a few bits with me but now we have an aldi on the door step I probably won't bother...many thanks.
Hi from Puerto Lumbreras,
Well I hope your Aldi is better than the one that opened nr us in Lorca. We were amazed at how empty it was until we looked at the prices!!!!!! More expensive than Lidl or Mercadona and the bread awful.
As we say, hope yours is better, but we have reverted to Lidl, Dia & Mercadona.
Enjoy your trip,
Bob and Sandra

Thanks for your speedy reply..that doesn't sound too promising but at least the mercadona is virtually next door so at least I'll have a choice.
Anyway, have a safe journey & a wonderful time.

Super helpful member
I live close by to the new Aldi. As said already, it does not have the same products that I used to see in Manchester and those that it has seem no cheaper than at the Mercadona that is closer to the Urbanisation and clearly more popular.

The Aldi sells baked beans and Marmite. What more do you need?
If having the same food is so essential to family happiness, best you take a trip to Vera where there is a big Iceland. There there are loads of ready cooked meals, tins and packets of familiar brands etc for you to stock up on. You won´t pay British prices though.
