Hi, some.years. ago my new wife took a.local PADI Course & it was appalling. There was no course work apart from the PADI Manual and.no Pool work. So you were decanted straight into the sea at Carboneras.in.a 10mm wetsuit, weight belt, etc. Of the 8 on the course 4 freaked completely, my wife couldn't equalise & 1 'passed'. Appalling and unsafe.

So do ask what the course entails.

Best Wishes,

Dr. / Coln. Bob and Sandra

Bob can I ask which company your wife went with?

Thanks

Apologies but too long ago & believe they are no longer in business.

When I started diving it was in The Red Sea which was a really safe dive environment-bit like a warm bath and 150m viz. & negligible tides & currents. Even there we had a week of theory, 1hr/ night followed by 2 weeks of evening pool work before we even went to the sea. When or before I returned to UK I further qualified as BSAC. Tides, etc, etc.

Just check on the training offered. The Med isn't as safe  as The Red Sea.
