Hi

Am I correct that the IBI on your house is paid a year in advance?

Example If I get a bill due on the 11 of September 2023 that is for the year from September  2023  to September 2024?

If I sold my house in July of 2023 do I have to pay anything?

No it’s for the same year Jan to Dec. For example, I bought a property in Feb 2022. The previous owner paid the IBI for it in the September, even thought he’d only been in it for one month (January). My first payment was September 2023.

So if you sell your house at any time in 2023 you still pay the IBI in Sept 2023 (for the whole J-D year).
