... will be making my way to Almeria in 2023. Maybe my hubby and I will be lucky enough to meet you guys one day and have a good old chin wag. Until that day, please both keep doing what you do!

If ever you find yourself in the Vera area, would love to catch up with you 😁

Which restaurants / Bars would you recommend in Vera Dario , daytime , as bus travel is the the option . I’ve not really visited Vera except for festivals , music concerts , market and shopping . Nice authentic Spanish bar for a couple if glasses of wine and tapas . Vera seems to such a wide spread area . Thank goodness back to mojacar next week for a month or so . Kathy I must say the bus services are brilliant locally on the coast but I think you would need a car if you moved inland any distance . Others could tell you better on that .

In Vera Pueblo itself, there’s two very very good cafes on the Plaza Mayor, both adjacent the Correos - ones a lovely very Spanish cafe, the other is a brand new speciality Turrón / Ice Cream / Cake shop - I think the cafe is called “KoKo”, but couldn’t swear to it 😂

as for restaurants … well if you like Chinese food, then of course The Wok down on the main Vera roundabout, just up from Icelands.  ALWAYS busy, great value for money.  In Vera Pueblo itself I haven’t tried many of the restaurants, but Terazza Carmona are very very good - good food, but not exactly budget!

In Vera Playa you have much much greater choice - personally I like Antos and Victors Cafe bar at Las Buganvillas but couldn’t describe them as “Spanish” … such is the case with many of the restaurants around Vera Playa - they cater to the tourists, although both Antos and Victors have good pricing.

Authentically Spanish? I’d say the better ones will be in Garrucha which despite being seaside has a much greater Spanish flavour and influence.

Thank you Dario . It’s more the Casa Egea style Spanish tapas bar that I am looking forward to visiting . Done the good old Wok and quite a few of the port ones in garrucha , some really quite expensive . It’s quite limiting without a car . I have driven a car down on number of occasions but that has got quite expensive now with ferries , tolls and fuel . I will check out your suggestions in Vera pueblo . Many thanks Dev
