If you just want to go out to look locally to eat etc, why not get buses and save yourself some money?

Buses run from Mojacar Playa to Vera town every hour. Cost 1.50 each Then you could get out and walk around Vera Playa, Vera town, Burganvillas etc and see what's on offer. Also call into different estate agents in Burganvillas and Vera town to see what they have. They usually do other places too not just where their office is.

You might like to go and look at Vale de Este with an estate agent. They look nice.

you will find good places the far end of the Mojacar Playa all types of food italian, indian, chinese, english and spanish, pick up a booklet from Thomas's supermarket that gives you details of all the eateries in the areas.  Garrucha has some very nice fish places but a bit pricy.  before Covid Roberts on the Marina Golf just up from the best hotels was good but it isn't open as much now.  good advice to get the bus the yellow ones are local and go up the village as well only 1 on the half hour at the moment on a round route so just stay on the bus until you get there 1.20 each or if you are pension age go to the townhall and get a bus pass then it's free.  the blue and green bus go to  Vera and to Carboneras if you want to get further afield.  Are you looking for a Flat or a villa?  do you want to live coastal or inland?  Spanish Property Choice are a good estate agency and a good lawyer in Mojacar is Angela Morales if you don't already have one.  We have been here for 16 years now lived in Arboleas in a villa and moved to here a year ago much prefer it here.  where in the UK are you from?

SPC are very helpful that is who we are renting from at Marina de la Torre and we are using the solicitor that you said. We were told getting Padron is the slow bit. We are in no hurry yet as getting use to area.

Getting Padrón should be relatively quick - 3 days wait or thereabouts.

Sharon is right about Valle del Este as well - I live there and it’s fabulous.  Gets a bit noisy July / August, but unless you live out in the campo, you are likely going to find that with a lot of urbanizaciones in Mojácar, Vera Playa, Vera as they are all tourist areas,  I don’t mind, because for 10 months of the year it is tranquil and peaceful and July / August isn’t THAT bad - you just notice it because you have neighbors and the car park is full!!

We are from Burnham so not miles away.

Glad you got Padrón sorted. Interesting re Spanish phone number. I have already picked up a Spanish SIM so although not told it was a requirement at the ayuntamiento will take with us in case it needed.

We aclimatizing quite well, certainly now it cooled down a couple of degrees.

Good luck with your next steps.

Why not rent a 2-bed, 2-bath flat on the ground floor in our  place in the middle of Mojacar Beach where the life really is humming, 200m from the beaches in a quiet side road?

You can even buy up our 3-flat house etc. without the need of expensive Lawyers. For more please ask.
