If you are bringing your own car your UK insurance may well cover you. I use Saga and they include EU cover for up to a full year.

You are however only allowed to keep a UK registered car in Spain for a maximum of six months. You should then either register it in Spain or take it back to UK

I looked at buying a second hand car in Spain but found the prices very high compared to UK so I am in the process of registering my car here.
