Just on the right of the motorway  by the turn-off for Nijar there is a Residencia which we inspected for a relative and it was clean, bright and seemed quite pleasant in every way,  No smells, chapel, chiropodist, hairdresser, occupational therapy, swimming pool.  It´s called Residencia St. Rafael.  I was told that they have foreigners there (Americans, English etc).  It´s not private which here is a good thing  This one is subsidised by the Junta de Andalucia for those don´t receive sufficient income to pay the fees (providing that you have a residencia if you´re not a Spaniard).  The fees (unsubsidised) are approx. between 1,200 -  2,000 euros per month.  Inspection visits normally are preferred around 10 - 10.30 am as  daytime only residents start coming in after that time.

There was a place in Vera which closed, but I think they are opening another at some point.  There is one also in Cuevas I think.  Maybe your mother´s GP could advise?
