Thinking about living in Mojacar or on the coast in almeria in a few years , We are from N Ireland with British and Irish passports just do I have this correct , we can stay without a visa for up to 90 days , if we decide to stay for longer we apply for residency but in order to avoid paying tax in Spain we must not spend anymore than 183 days in a given calendar year ? Advice much appreciated looking at different topics rent be wary take your time but know that sun awaits

You are correct provided the Irish Passport is in date and you can legally spend up to 183 days continuously without being liable for Spanish Income Tax.

For actual time you may spend longer than 183 days continuously in Spain as usually "the blind eye" is given to holders of EU passports. Don't advertise this though as it is a sort of "tilly" that's going and (I for one) want it kept.

Hi Neil, You'll have to cross the road to get to any beach in Mojacar Playa. But, there are many Pedestrian Crossings. Occasionally, a car will stop to allow you to cross the road.

Looking forward to that pint!
