Good Morning everyoneđź’Ą

We are a bit confused. Could someone explain how the water charges work?

We know there is a meter n got that Auctioneer to take a reading when we purchased the place.

Is there a standing charge and will we receive a bill every two months or what? We have received no email as yet as to what we owe but the bank statement has shown that an amount of 40.00E was taken out on the 11/8 and a further  32.00E was taken out at the end of August the day we arrived🤔How can this be🤨How often should we receive waterbills

yes there is a standing charge and when you bought your solicitor may have set up a direct debit for payment if they had your bank details.  Galasa do not send bills you can go on line and register for internet and print the facturas as they come.  you need your nie or your water registration number, solicitor should know that.  We pay €27 every two months for our 3 bed apartment.

Hi. Galasa takes payments for 6 'bimesters' each year, so bimesrer 1 is Jan & Feb , bimesrer 2 is March & April etc.  To see your bills log into Galasa Virtual Oficina. You'll need your NIE number and you'll have to create an account. The online bills ( facturas) are detailed and clear.

I bought a property at the end of June and git 2 water bills close together. One was for the period from my completion date until the end of June, and the other was for July & August, so maybe your situation is similar.
