Hi Eddie, You could expect to wear shorts and teeshirts most days but from 14/15 December to 19/20 February after 4.00pm it gets somewhat colder and heavier clothing is recommended. Many restaurants remain open over the off season so if you want to eat out you still will have plenty of choice. You could get fed up with eating out too, so learn to cook if you need, embrace the Spanish way and you'll have little or no problems. Costa Almeria has the warmest and driest temps of mainland Spain.

Hi Eddie, We spent several years looking around at various parts of Spain including the Canary Islands. We rented in Mojacar Playa one November going into half of December and after didn't even consider any other area. We wanted to rent out or place when we weren't using it. That was the first point and every other point was a distance from that. We have a choice of three airports to get back to Ireland, Almeria, Murcia International and Alicante. As a last resort we have that confounded Málaga airport of which we hate every square inch. We were 15 years from retirement when we bought. Lots of places were on our "list" but the Eureka Moment was there are many people living in Mojacar Playa that first bought in other areas (mainly CdeS). If I were to spend a week in Benidorm or any other such high rise dump I'd be spending time in a padded cell afterwards.
