Hi we are hoping to move to the area in the near future but struggling to find any flights to Almeria airport from Scotland over the winter months. If anyone can offer any advice on this it would be much appreciated . Not sure of traveling to other airports and transfer links. Thanks

Hi There

We are going out to Vera Playa next month. They only flight we could find was from Manchester to Almeria with Jet 2.  We dont mind going from Manchester as it is only a a little over 3 hours by train from Glasgow straight to airport.  Hope this helps.

Regards

There are no flights from Scotland to Almeria in winter. We live just north of Inverness so have to travel down to Gatwick and then out, usually to Murcia so we don't have to overnight. We have written to EasyJet asking them to consider flights to anywhere in the region in the winter  - and summer - months to Almeria, Murcia, Alicante, Malaga or Granada but not had a response. There would certainly be a big take-up.

Flights from scotland to almeria in winter are non existant. We live in glasgow and would have to travel down south to catch flights. Hopefully when the new and larger murcia airport opens it may include direct winter flights from scotland

There are flights to Alicante from Edinburgh, Glasgow & Aberdeen (and maybe others, but I haven’t checked any more). There is a shuttle bus, https://exclusiveairportshuttles.co.uk/  or you could call a taxi that does airport runs.

We always hire a car so wouldn't use the shuttle bus. Flew into Alicante in April and it's quite a straightforward drive. Would obviously prefer murcia or almeria though

For those of us the Inverness area of the Highlands it's actually more of a hassle - and definitely longer - to drive down to Glasgow or Edinburgh or across to Aberdeen than it is to fly down to Gatport Airwick. I dream of the day there is a flight to any of the airports from Alicante down to Malaga from Inverness. But sadly I doubt we'll ever see it.

We've flown from Leeds/ Bradford to Murcia with Ryanair in February i.e. after the jet2 flights from the same stop to Almeria. I think they fly right through the season but you'll need to check.

The Glasgow train stops in Leeds (on the Durham/ York line) and you can get either a taxi or a connect bus outside the station

Hope this helps

NB - I know Murcia is due to close December 18 and not sure what happens with Ryan after then, maybe they move seamless over to the new airport?
