Hi
Does anyone know whether as a non resident house owner can I lease, or buy a new / second hand car.
I seem to get many varying answers, all I know is car hire is now too expensive

Yes, you can. I own a house and I'm a non resident and have purchased a Spanish car without any issue.

Yes have bought new cars from a dealer and privately owned cars too. Just make sure that if it's new and they insist on you being on the padron you refuse, that is a real no no for non residents, just find a different dealer. Oh and slightly off topic, don't be surprised if a car dealer lets you walk out of the showroom without buying even if you really want to. We have found that quite astounding.
