I have seen the topic discussed many times as to how to get to Murcia or Alicante Airports from this region of Mojacar.

Just found out that you can get a train from Huercal Overa! Result!

Hi, where in Huercal Overa. We are aware of Lorca but didn't think the tracks extended to Huercal Overa. Think from Mojacar we would take Exclusive Airport Shuttles.or similar if flying from Alicante ('God forbid ) but not sure about San Javier, Murcia.Bob and SandraMojacar Playa and Puerto Lumbreras

We were in Totana recently and saw the train. I googled trains from there. Or was it Totna! I will look it up when I get home!

I followed the line on my road atlas and it even seemed that train ends up in Almeria. Very slow though.

You can get train from Huercal to Barcelona!

The only way to get the train in Murcia region is from/at Lorca.

There's no train service/station from/at Huercal Overa.

Totally agree with Chevy and thought you knew something I had missed. You take train to Lorca and then bus to Huercal Overa. The bus service is not that great.

Need to re-think options.

From watching bus/coach traffic on the motovia there are lots of coaches but my understanding is that the service is slow with little or no options.

Theres a coach pick up in Huercal Overa up by the Hub, best options for getting about is obviously by hiring a car. Best I can find is "DoYouSpain" which tho they do the usual comparison checks they come up consistently cheaper, but................. it can also depend which airport you fly into/out of.

From Huercal Overa there is an ALSA coach leaves nerly every hour to Alicante airport. Picks up Huercal at 0900 arrives Alicante airport at 1145. One change at Murcia coach station and fare was around €17. Not sure but I think the coach comes from Almeria and calls in Vera, not sure about Mojacar.

ALSA website is www.alsa.es

Hope this helps,

Tony.
