Hello.

I've very much enjoyed reading all the helpful and informative posts by locals.

Might anyone be willing to post recent photos of the Wednesday Market in Lubrin?  Of particular interest is the variety and quality of goods for sale.  Perhaps some kind soul might even be willing to itemize the current price per kilo of popular fruits and vegetables?

Does anyone local sell cooked chicken and, if so, what is the price?

Fish prices?

I'm trying to get an idea of what a weekly food budget would be like for a single, predominantly vegetarian, person.

I'm also very interested in the range of local prices (per kilo) for such items as Olive oil, Honey, almonds and cheese.

A litre of milk / cream?

A dozen eggs?

Loaf of grainy bread?

Six pack of San Miguel Beer?

Bottle of Red Wine?

How do village prices compare to nearby shopping areas, such as Garrucha, or Mojacar?

Beverage and tapas prices in local venues?

Price of a coffee?

Any information anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Vincent.

P.S.Not interested in off topic reponses - please post them to your own thread - thank you.

the going rate for a cooked chicken from the freshly cooked van is between 8 and 9 euros for a whole one. coffee is usually 1.20 but can be 1.50 at the coast.  all other items are usually cheaper for fruit and vege at the markets than in the supermarkets.  food shopping is cheaper here still than in UK but we have to buy our water for drinking so that's extra.  If you have a Lidls shop nearby that is cheaper than Mercadona. Bottles of red wine can range from 1.60 to 12 euros depending on your tastes.  We buy a box of 6 which is nice for 8 euros the box.  not sure on local shops in the Lubrin area but they are usually slightly dearer but of course convenient.  anyway you can be sure money goes further here in Spain

Just wondering why your still buying water, all water in Spain is drinkable unless coming from a private supply.

water may be drinkable in theory but in Mojacar we prefer to buy bottled as it tastes better especially when they turn the mains on and off and if comes through brown!

Thank you to those who have responded so far. I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to assist.

However,  since I never mentioned water in my initial post, might we please refrain from further water related comments.

I would still very much appreciate answers to my original questions about the market and current prices in Lubrin.

Thanks.

Vincent.
