Learning Spanish in Lubrin - 0 replies

Normy Posted by Normy in General Lubrín discussion on Sat Apr 20, 2024 10:40am

Hi, we are buying a property 5 minutes from Lubrin and hope to have moved at the latter end of July. I read an oldish post which said the local priest held a Spanish class on a Wednesday as he was keen to learn English and I wandered was this still a thing.

Thanks Norman

Looking to buy a small property that needs a littke work - 1 replies

NickyP Posted by NickyP in General property discussion in Lubrín on Sun Apr 7, 2024 7:43am

Hi there, i'm just looking for a bit of advice. We are looking to buy a small property in Lubrin - hopefully one that needs a little work - not structural stuff, but plastering, painting, flooring, new kitchen/bathrooom type work. We can do some cosmetic work ourselves but was just wondering if it's easy to find good tradesmen in this area? We speak minimal Spanish at the moment but we are gradually learning more! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Nicky.

Medical insurance requirements for a permanent move? - 0 replies

Niamh99 Posted by Niamh99 in Healthcare and medical advice in Lubrín on Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:03pm

Hi All,

Firstly, massive thanks for all of the information you all provide. It's been enormously helpful for us in visiting, buying and now planning a permanent (well, semi-permanent) move.

My question is about medical insurance but is specific to our circumstances (as you would expect, i guess)!

We own a property in the area but currently live and work in the UK. We will move over there for at least two years (career break) from Spring next year. I have an Irish/EU passport and my wife a UK passport. We will both work from Spain and plan to become resident after making the move over next year. Given my EU citizenship, are the rules around medical insurance the same for us? Cover seems rather extortionate (we're fit/healthy and in our late 30s and 40s respectively) but we just can't quite pin down whether we need or should ensure that we have this cover in order to apply for residency. Advice seems conflicting. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much!
