Fly problem in Huercal-Overa and Albox Area - Page 2

We've lived in Cantoria for four and a half years and we don't find the flies excessive here. 

We were warned about the pig farms nearer Huércal Overa, so chose this area.

We have fly screens, but although there are some flies we have as many bees, because there are beehives nearby.

I live near pig farms and in the summer months the flies can be a nuisance, but from November to May there are hardly any about, a fly screen is a must of you like outdoor living and also eating outside, you are restricted to the flyfree, flies are a fact of life here in Spain, the reason that there are not many by the coast is they the local councils and the agricultural community spray insecticides to protect from flies, as we all know about insecticide drift, it's more dangerous than the troublesome flies, my house in Las Labores Huércal-Overa, is surrounded by pig farms, when I take my dogs for a walk, morning and evening, I take a small branch from one of our olive trees as a fly whisk, or as the people of Australia do, wine bottle corks hanging from your hat. If you are a Royalist you can develop a genteel wave.
