Market in Garrucha moving

Someone wants a better kickback?

they are being moved because the townhall have to repair the front promenade which is in a bad way.  Not sure how it will go down as it is up on the top road way above where it used to be.

Thanks, and it makes sense, as they are working on the promenade just outside Garrucha on the way to Mojacar.

But how it will go is another question, as there is a lack of pitstops up there.

Spending money on beer or coffee, is usually a snap decision. If there is nothing there, I suspect people will just go home after buying what they need in the Market.

When's this happening please and how long for? 

from 22 September and then until they finish the roadworks presumably however long that will take.  Not sure how it's going to go down with the bars and shops on the front Playa who will lose the customers that just come from the market.   Also the lack of parking in the areas is getting beyond a joke with the garden/park being constructed at the other end and the diversion on the road round the back of the castle.  It will be lovely when it's finished but they will still need more parking in the summer.

It'll be very handy for us but I totally agree that it's not great for the local bars and cafes. We've not been over since June so I'm interested to see the progress on the works. 

so half of the traders refused to set up their stalls in the new area and it is up in the air as to whether they will accept the move, there was supposed to be temp toilets and buses to take people up to the top road which looks as if it didn't happen according to a report in 'La Voz' so watch this space.   The mess that they are creating in the area where the market was is going to take a while to repair meanwhile the traffic goes via the port.
