Hi. Just joined this great site. I'm planning on renting out my house in uk for a year and spend a year in Garrucha exploring the culture. What is a good agency in Garrucha for renting a flat for a year

You likely will do better with somebody on this forum who will contact you. Be careful and confirm all options to their Nth degree. Trawl back over similar rental threads.

Ok thanks. Actually it's for 3 years time. Lots of preparation to do! But was interested. Thanks for replying

who knows what the situation regarding how long you can stay in Spain will be in 3 years time but unless you have an EU passport you certainly wouldn't be able to stay that long at the moment.

Currently you need to have proof of £30000 savings if staying for a year, apparently. But in 3 years time. Who knows!

My Advice (if you want to spend more than 6 months in Spain) :-

1. Get an NIE number from the Spanish embassy or Consulate nearest to where you live. It costs around £6.50 GBP. You may need this if you need a bank account in Spain.

2. If you wish to rent out your UK property soak up any information from the rental agency.

3. You may need to know some Spanish living in Garrucha. Only saying!

4. Ensure you know all your utility costs including internet.

5. (This should be No 1) - What are all costs including rental. Are there administration fees? Local taxes? Community Charges? Any other charges some people dream up? In short ensure there are no surprises. Is car parking extra? How is electricity paid for?

6. (This should be No 2). Do you really want to Spend twelve consecutive months in Spain?

Thanks for all the points. Yes 12 months probably but not more. Also depending on renting out my house. But I  lived 30 years in Italy so would be great to experience Spanish culture as well.

You may also have to change your UK driving licences for a Spanish one because you can only use the UK one for six months
