Give you a small anecdote. I am a retired trauma surgeon with the Army. Here for 15years. Came in from HK requiring removal of nail great toe. Went in to Urgencias. Obtained Urgent appt.but when we turned.up the female Orthopaedic surgeon started to.make us jump through hoops. I.pointed at her badge, 'Doctor' Si!!!!'''Me also pensionista/ jubilado. Another.point -'Cirujano? (Surgeon)  Si, orthopoedico. Pointed to.myself,- me also, Cirujano, traumatoligica.

From then on everything was in English. She fitted me in at the end of her.next list and the Registrar.did it!!!!!!!

More.professional courtesy than I now get in UK, but many just don't like Brits!!!!!
