Moving to Bedar next month from Southern Almeria. Have used Malaga in winter and Almeria in summer for our flights from Dublin. With Ryanair pulling out of the  Dublin Almeria route will now have to use Murica or Alicante. Having checked for car hire in these airports I recognise some of the company names but there are other names  I have never heard of. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

go raibh maith agat ( thank you)

Looking at prices in June. They are eye-watering. Think buying a car is going to have to be moved to near the top of the " 2 do" list.

Think you will also be shocked about the price of second hand cars too.  Can sometimes be better to go down the new car route.

It's not actually a rip off economy  compared to the eye waterring prices of Dublin belive me I know. Bleed blue myself

Cars hold there resale value here for a number off reasons.  No rust, well maintained, illegal to sell a banger -seller is responsilbe for a number of things if they go worng in the first year I believe.

Just not enough competition or suppliers at Murcia or Almeria or on the ground in Mojácar . Prices are extortionate. I have always found it cheaper overall to fly into Malaga where car hire is more competitive and more choice of flights . It’s only one hour longer drive on a good road.  From Murcia or Alicante I have found Centauro to be best of an expensive choice. Also be careful of some smaller / cheaper off-site suppliers at Alicante , .., their insurance or breakdown cover may only cover Murcia/Valencia regions. Get confirmation that you can take the car into Andalucia. Would be glad to hear of any competitive all inclusive no excess providers at Murcia/ Mojacar

Having had a casa in Southern Almeria for last 20 years have used Malaga 99% of the time. With Malagacar.com and Centauro which we found excellent . Wouldn't fancy the 3 hour drive now we are moving up the coast.

Thank you for your post.
