if you don't drive how would you get there?  Taxis from the airport expensive and then stuck!

Getting there is not the problem

Shuttle bus from airport to Los Gallardos then taxi . More thinking when in Bedar .

Does or did the daily bus run before Covid or did operator cancel the Los Gallardos - Bedar section

Bédar is a beautiful little town, I love the place, but you need a car, motorbike, motorised hang-glider or a bicycle which will keep you fit and mobile.

Pros - beautiful area, beautiful views, some lovely properties available at reasonabe prices, a couple of small supermarkets, a bank, a pharmacy and 3 bars in the village, community feel to the place, only 20 - 25 minutes drive to the coast

Cons - although there are lovely walks in the area it is very hilly - fine if you are young but as you get older! You will need to drive to go anywhere.

Just a Query:- I'm looking to buy a property in Bédar with some need of renovation (but not too much renovation) - roof replacing, external wall underpinning out of the question. I'm looking for a basement bargain type property. I don't care if it is not in the middle of the village, but it must be within 10 minutes walk of the village centre.

Can anybody give me a ball park figure for purchase of a 2 bedroom property there like I want?

If you need to re roof Matthew, the reform will no longer be considered obra menor by the town hall and they'll probably want an architectural plan.

Do beware of breeze block bungalow type houses which are really almacenes.  Often pretty and enticing after a bit exterior cosmetic work, nice garden etc.  However, they are cheap but freezing cold in the winter and ovens in the summer.  Anyway, I suppose you know all of this Matthew as you seem be well informed about a lot of things.

Good luck with your search!

It is very steep, the older you get the steeper it will feel.  But very pretty...
