Funnily enough, I’ve been watching her on You Tube this week.  Shes got a nice way about her.

Yes my husband finds her excellent.  His Spanish was limited to food and building materials 🙄. We understand that we'll never be properly bilingual but keep on trying.  Covid has been a real problem as it's way harder with a mask on😕😕

Hi KCSunshine.  May i put in my two pennyworth of suggestions.  I've lived here for 22 years and came over on retirement at the age of 60, from which you can deduce my age.  May i suggest a book called Madrigals Magic Key to Spanish (available on Amazon).  I should  be  fluent by now I know but due to a personal tragedy 11 years ago i stalled in my learning.  During lockdown i sent for this book and have found it brilliant.   It takes you through the basics in vocabulary and Theory and by the end you will have a better grasp of the language.  I keep going through it and have found i can construct sentences much better.  Of course there is nothing better than speaking with the 'natives' but i live in an area which is predominantly english speaking except for the summer months when we get an influx of second home owners.  However they speak so rapidly and do not understand the meaning of 'despacio' (slowly) por favor.  But the book has given me more confidence to try things out.  Sadly i am quite deaf now and feel it too late to become fluent also the use of masks nowadays does not help in places like the hospital, Doctors etc.  But i find if they write things down for me i can usually read and understand what they are saying.   Idiomatic phrases are the most difficult but with perseverance things will get better.  The book i mentioned is South American spanish in alot of phrases but you can certainly get around that.  Hope i have been of some help along with everyone elses suggestions.  Good luck.
